How to set up a Route/Trip in IMS Voyager Transit

1. Transit Set-Up Administration

Two types of trips may exist in the IMS Voyager Transit: ‘One-Way / Internal Trips’ and ‘Transit Trips’.

Transit Trips may consist of several One-Way/Internal Trips.

Example:

You have a trip ‘Vancouver – Nanaimo – Galiano Island – Vancouver’

We need to add:

One ‘Transit Trip’:

‘Vancouver – Nanaimo – Galiano Island – Vancouver’

3 ‘One-Way/Internal’ Trips

Vancouver – Nanaimo

Nanaimo – Galiano Island

Galiano Island – Vancouver

To create the ‘Transit Trip’ ‘Vancouver – Nanaimo – Galiano Island – Vancouver’ you need:

Log-in as the IMSCart administrator and go to the ‘Transit’ administration page.

Click ‘Add Tour’ and add the trips: See Setup Tour desk for more information on adding Tours (trips).

‘Vancouver – Nanaimo – Galiano Island – Vancouver’

Vancouver – Nanaimo

Nanaimo – Galiano Island

Galiano Island – Vancouver

Click ‘Transit Setup’ on the left submenu.

From the list of available trips choose the Transit Trip ‘Vancouver – Nanaimo – Galiano Island – Vancouver’, and click on it.

You will see the ‘Transit Trip Form’ for the chosen tour.

Fill in the following fields:

-          ‘Trip start time’: lists all the available times, choose the start time.

-          Internal trip’: lists all the available trips; choose the ‘first leg’:

 Vancouver – Nanaimo.

-          Internal trip time’: lists all the available times for the ‘one-way/internal’ trip; choose the start time

-          List order’: number of the ‘one-way/internal trip’ in the information table; it is used to sort the ‘one-way/internal trips

-          Comments’: contains any text information you want to display on the "Schedule" page.

Click ‘Save’ to save this information.

As a result you will see a table with the “Existing information about ‘Vancouver – Nanaimo – Galiano Island – Vancouver’ on the bottom of page.

Add the other 2 legs:

Nanaimo – Galiano Island

Galiano Island – Vancouver

You can modify and delete any of the ‘one-way/internal trips’ by clicking on the respective buttons.

When all ‘one-way/internal trips’ are added you need to generate inventory for both

‘Transit Trips’ and all the ‘One-Way/Internal Trips’.

Click the menu ‘Transit’ and from the left menu choose ‘Create Inventory’.

When all the inventory is created, if for example a customer books 2 seats on the trip ‘Vancouver – Nanaimo – Galiano Island – Vancouver’, the same quantity (2) will be subtracted from the inventory  on all the ‘one-way/internal trips: ‘Vancouver – Nanaimo’, ‘Nanaimo – Galiano Island’ and ‘Galiano Island – Vancouver’

If the administrator or user cancels the order, the inventory for the ‘transit trip’ and all ‘one-way/internal trips’ will be restored.

2. Transit Trips – Schedule

On the ‘Book Reservation’ page for ‘Transit Trips’ is a link called ‘Schedule’. It displays all the ‘one-way/internal trips’ for the chosen trip/month.
